It’s not surprising, then, that for Resort, the design team paid homage to Pucci’s legacy, referencing Mexico as a must-see destination. Short salsa sundresses and voluptuous caftans were drenched in saturated colors and fringed with raffia; the new Pucci prints were called Acapulco, Diego (Rivera), Frida (Kahlo), and Guanabana (a juicy fruit that grows in the region). Yet, what could’ve turned out as an obvious and nostalgic postcard from another era was, on the contrary, handled quite lightly in a modern, no-nonsense way.
