"This season, Shayne Oliver has drawn inspiration from the idea of pilgrimages and in particular the Pilgrim Fathers, European dissidents who escaped religious persecution in the 17th century to create a “new Jerusalem”. Translated into Hood by Air language, this gives the collection a sort of shamanic urbanity where the boundaries between genders no longer exists and you find semi-naked miscreants with their feet nailed to planks suspended in mid-air. The smell of burnt hair gave this piously austere collection an extra element of gravitas as the Hood by Air gang performed a spiritual ceremony in the outside courtyard.
