At N°21's new headquarters, fashion design and interior design are competing for center stage—and that's a good thing
Alessandro Dell’Acqua, founder and creative director of N°21, tapped architect Hannes Peer to design the offices and showroom spaces. (A longtime partner of the N°21 brand, Peer has also designed the label's flagship stores in Tokyo, Milan, and Hong Kong, N°21's sales showroom in Milan, and Dell'Acqua's private residence.) The multi-story headquarters nods to Milan's past and present design muses. "For me the Milanese style is austere yet sophisticated at the same time," says Dell'Acqua, noting the Art Deco entrance, Ceppo di Grè stone walls, and the '90s-influenced gray staircase as Milanese elements he pulled together in the design. "I imagined a space full of architectural contrasts, different materials mixed together with a sophisticated touch," he explains.
